Dr Julia CHEW
Family General Dentist
BDS (University of Adelaide, Australia)

On Solid Ground
Dr Julia completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide in 2020. During her undergraduate training, she worked in a diverse range of clinical environments, including the Adelaide Dental Hospital and rural placements in Port Lincoln, South Australia. Working in both metropolitan and rural healthcare settings allowed her to care for patients from a variety of backgrounds and demographics, while gaining an understanding of the different challenges people may face in accessing dental and healthcare services. These experiences helped develop her adaptable and patient-centred approach to dentistry.
Since graduating, Dr Julia has worked in private practice, caring for patients across different age groups and stages of life. She particularly enjoys treating children and families, and strives to make dental visits comfortable, positive and stress-free for younger patients. She also enjoys treating older patients and has experience across restorative and aesthetic dentistry, as well as oral surgery. Dr Julia believes that good dentistry begins with understanding each patient’s concerns and priorities, and takes the time to develop treatment plans that are tailored to their individual needs and goals.
Behind The Scenes
During her early career, Dr Julia also volunteered with HealthServe, where she had the opportunity to provide dental care to migrant workers and contribute to improving access to oral healthcare within the community. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys staying active through tennis and pickleball and previously coached tennis for visually impaired players. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends and is a proud pawrent to Lilo!
